We Provide Insights from Language Specialists.

For Those Who Have Speech-Language Impairments:

Speech-Language Pathology is a growing field! Many people think of kids with lisps or who can't say the R sound, stuttering, and stroke patients. Those are all correct! They are, though, just the tip of the iceberg.

Imagination Therapy LLC can work with individuals across the lifespan, with difficulties, deficits and/or disorders associated with speech, language, swallowing, fluency, voice, thinking, listening, reading or social interaction.*  Language and behavior are products of the brains function and ability, and are viewed as symptoms or signs of what is actually going on inside.

According to the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) website: "Speech disorders occur when a person is unable to produce speech sounds correctly or fluently, or has problems with their voice or resonance. Language disorders occur when a person has trouble understanding others (receptive language), or sharing thoughts, ideas, and feelings (expressive language). Read more." (Retrieved October 2017 from https://www.asha.org/Students/Speech-Language-Pathology/)

Imagination Therapy LLC currently accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO and United Healthcare. We accept private pay and can assist with invoices to submit to other insurance providers out-of-network. Please send us a message on the contact page and we can discuss your needs!

* Limitations for medically complex clients may apply for safety reasons. Functional recommendations and referrals may be made to more capable facilities.

For Everyone: After School & After Work: Creativity and Problem Solving Groups

Imagination Therapy LLC was imagined in part while working at schools helping ALL the students in the school- including those who do not have a speech-language impairment. I realized that the world we in live values developing
imaginations and creativity, but it's hard to find the right time, people, or place.

I am hoping to facilitate individuals or groups of any need level to work on creative projects and play strategy and imagination-based games.

I have run groups that focus on Inclusion: Blending In (Or Not!). Some of the activities I am planning include:
-What does it mean to have friends and different types of friendship.
-Going out to a restaurant to see how we behave eating in public
-Being unique while not scaring off would-be friends and teammates.
-"Fake it 'til you make it" and when to play the role
-Imagination building games and how to use your unique interests to be a part of any group.
-Making plans with friends- and accepting that not everyone needs to be our "friend"

Speech-language expertise will provide guidance for all to facilitate group organization, goal setting, focused problem detection and solution, and hopefully fun relationship building.

For less formal intervention, for filling gap skills or general guidance that isn't as intensive as direct therapy, I also see clients for 45-60 minutes, 1:1 or in a group, at a rate of $50 per session.
