LOTS to update this time and they are all positive! I came back from my trip in sunny Scotland (except when climbing the mountain Ben Lomand (picture evidence of sun and mountain to the right... it is NEVER sunny there). I amfeeling refreshed and ready to get back to work with my community!
1) The 2018 Health and Wellness fair in Oak Park was a wonderful introduction to my wider community (see pictures!). I will write more in a details post later, but I met amazing vendors and service providers in Oak Park, handed out over 100 business cards, key chains and brochures. I had volunteers, my brother, and a few "vultures" vying for my two board games of "Clue" as they competed in my Tic-Tac-Toe Tournament! Strategies proved to win the day- congratulations to Aurelie and Bessima for their wins! These two girls brought this fair to life challenging everyone and learning the tricks of the game quickly!
*Teen Entrepreneur Shout Out! * Before I could be ready for the fair, I got an official version of my logo (not done by myself, but someone with training this time). I had the amazing work of Briana Laws- a teen from my community who wants to be a graphic designer! She is a daughter of a former colleague, and was ready to go.
During our business interactions, she was professional, polite, efficient and I am very happy with the result! If you'd like to be connected to her for your business, I am happy to try to connect you! Below is her personal art page Disclaimer; This is her personal page and includes strong language and opinions. Please be respectful and only enter the site if you're comfortable and mature to view and you'd like to view her art or contact her for services.
2) It is MAY! Can you believe it!? See my services page to find out what's cooking for summer groups. I am really digging into the teen community here in Oak Park and I am very excited to run some groups for topics that are fine-tuning our control, including why and when we do and do not want to "blend in". I also hope to run a fun campaign of Dungeons and Dragons, among other fun games!
3) I am FINALLY a Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO provider! Phew! I would say I can start immediately with insurance, but I think I need to talk with some colleagues and make sure I do this all the right way. I am very excited for the possibilities that this will open up for all of us to work together! Thanks for your continued understanding, patience & interest while I grow and learn!
Stay tuned for more posts about the fair and this summer. I am so excited and happy with my work- I am a lucky woman and so grateful to my community.
